INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEMS IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY: ROLE OF RETURNEE ENTREPRENEURS

About the Conference

Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems have been attracting increasing attention of both policymakers and academic researchers across the global economy, due to their transformation potential through their contributions to innovations, employment, and income, among others. In fact, as entrepreneurial ecosystems evolve and grow, entrepreneurship of improved quality emerges through multiple means, such as entrepreneurial universities, large scale industries (both MNCs and domestic enterprises), Incubators and Accelerators, and co-working spaces, among others. However, there are challenges which may be overcome by entrepreneurs based on their own background and experience, on the one hand, and the strength of entrepreneurial ecosystems in which they plan to initiate their new ventures, on the other. Particularly, the strength and exposure of returnee entrepreneurs and domestic entrepreneurs are likely to be different and their entry, performance, and exit could vary over space and time. In fact, there could be multiple lessons to learn from both, for the betterment of entrepreneurial ecosystems to generate an increasing number of startups and through them increasing employment, innovated products/services, income, and even exports. It is to deliberate these issues that we are organizing this International Conference with two broad platforms as follows:

Start-up Platform : Meant for practitioners

  • Start-up founders, Angels, VCs, Private Equities, Chiefs of Accelerators / Incubators / Co-working Spaces, Heads of Entrepreneurship Cells at Higher Education Institutions, Business Mentors, Technology Mentors, Large Companies which nurture start-ups, and Government officials.

Researchers’ Platform : Meant for academic researchers.

  • Academicians, Theoretical and Empirical Researchers, and Project Fellows/Assistants
