He obtained PhD from the University of Chicago, USA under the supervision of Professor Hirsh Zvi Griliches. He is the founding Managing Editor of the Journal of Quantitative Economics. He was the Chairman of Centre for Economics and Social Sciences (CESS), Hyderabad, and Chairman of Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS), Chennai. He is a world-renowned Industrial Economist and an Econometrician from India. He has guided more than 40 Ph.D. and M.Phil. dissertations covering almost all the important branches of economics.

Arun has co-authored three books, including one on Management Accounting with Atkinson and Robert Kaplan. Dr. Charan Singh is the CEO and Founder Director, EGROW Foundation. He is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Punjab & Sind Bank. He continues to pursue his academic interests by regularly teaching courses on Macro, Monetary Policy, Global Economics (International Finance) and contemporary issues on Indian Economy at IIM Visakhapatnam and IIM Rohtak.
Earlier, he was the RBI Chair Professor of Economics at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, India; Senior Economist at the IMF, Washington DC (August 2009-December 2012); and Research Director (Economic Policy, Debt Management; 1997-2009) at the RBI where he joined as Research Officer in the economics department in 1984. He started his career in 1983 as management trainee in Punjab National Bank. Among other positions, Dr Singh served on the Board of NHB and NABFINS.
His expertise is on Fiscal Policy (especially Market Borrowings, Debt Management); Monetary Policy (especially Public Sector Banks, Interest Rates, Inflation Targetting); Financial Markets (especially Money Market, Financial Inclusion) and he has worked extensively on issues like External Trade, International Reserves, Global Hunger Index, Old Age Pension, other development issues related to India's Growth and Public Policy.
Dr Singh has published extensively and has two academic books to his credit, on published by Springer and the other by Cambridge. He has also contributed significantly in public domain through writings in professional journals. He also contributes in discussions on current affairs in leading newspapers and important TV channels.
Dr Singh completed M.Phil in Applied Economics from JNU, Delhi and PhD in Economics from the University of New South Wales, Sydney in 1997. He followed it up with post-doctoral studies at Department of Economics, Harvard University from Aug 2003 to Aug 2004 and Stanford University from August 2004 to January 2006.

Dr. Debabrata Das is serving as Director of IIIT Bangalore (IIITB). Before joining IIITB in 2002, he had served at G S Sanyal School of Telecommunication at IIT Kharagpur and later at Kirana Networks in New Jersey, USA. He is Project Officer of National Mission for Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems in the areas of Advanced Communication System, from DST, Govt of India. He was PI of multiple sponsored projects from Intel, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Motorola Research, Tejas Networks, Nokia, Govt. of India, in the areas of Broadband Wireless MAC/QoS/Energy-saving, and IMS. His main areas of research interest are IoT and Wireless Access Network's MAC, QoS, Power saving. Dr. Das received his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
He has more than 200 peer reviewed papers in different Transaction/Journals and International Conferences. Dr. Das has received 9 best paper awards. He has 5 US/Indian patents and 11 more are under review. He and his wireless network team had contributed ideas to IEEE Wireless Broadband Standard. He has received Prof. K. Sreenivasan Memorial Award 2017 for excellent teaching and Prof. S V C Aiya Memorial Award 2022 for Research in the areas of Telecommunication and Electronics from IETE. Dr. Das is recipient of IEEE Region-10 Outstanding Volunteer Award 2020, Global IEEE MGA Achievement Award 2012 and Outstanding Volunteer Award IEEE Bangalore Section 2008. He is Fellow-IETE, Fellow-IE and SM-IEEE. He is a Member of National Academy of Science India (NASI). He is Chair of IEEE India Council for the year 2023 and 2024. Prof. Sudhir K. Jain is currently Adjunct Professor at the Department of Management Studies, I.I.T. Delhi from where he superannuated in June 2017. Earlier he has served as Head of the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi during 2010-2012 and as Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra (J&K) during February 2013 to March 2016. Previously, he also served as Executive Director, National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD) under the Ministry of MSME (Govt. of India) during 2002-2003.
He has published about 200 research papers in international/national journals/conference-proceedings. Over 25 distinguished scholars have obtained their Ph.D. degree under his supervision. He has undertaken several dozen Research & Consultancy Projects. He has also co-authored the book “Managerial Economics” with Prof. H. Craig Petersen and Prof. W. Chris Lewis of Utah State University (USA), published by Pearson Education in 2006.
Dr. Sudhir K. Jain has been a pioneer in IPR education in the country and has been associated with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in various capacities including Tutor for their international Distance Learning courses.
He has also been a member of several committees set up by the Government of India such as IPR Education Policy Committee (Ministry of HRD), National Entrepreneurship Policy Committee (Ministry of MSME), MHRD Technical Committee on WTO Matters (Ministry of HRD) etc.
Prior to joining I.I.T. Delhi in March 1985, he served as Assistant Professor (1980-85), Institute for Social & Economic Change, Bengaluru and as Assistant Director, ICSSR, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India (1979-80). He was Visiting Professor, Mongolian Technical University, Ulaanbaatar in 1996.
